I have debated for a long time as to start writing in the blog again, but here I am.  Running has been pretty hit and miss lately.  The left foot is not doing very well and continues to bother me on a daily basis.  I remain hopeful it will eventually heal, the right one has, but so far the left, it is not looking good, and there is consensus among the doctors I have seen that this may or may not ever get better.  Surgery remains an option, but the risk is exceptional and would likely end any future running, so here I am hanging on the edge left with just hope and a sincere determination to find away to get healthy.  I think it is important for me to document my journey and just maybe I can see some light...

4 miles on the treadmill  - ran the last 3 miles at a comfortable 6:48 pace.  The treadmill has become my friend lately, it has given me the chance to bail on a run in the case my foot becomes too painful.  I have had to find a way to walk back on several runs outdoors.  The treadmill at least keeps me honest and I can push the pace as hard as I want, I will likely continue on it for the foreseeable future.

15 minutes of stretching and 20 minutes e-stim on heels.

Started with a unbelievably painful mile on the treadmill and realized this was not happening. So, I got in the pool and swam for a half hour more or less.

Actually got outside to run today, it was beautiful.  Ran up in the trails at Red Butte, what a shame to see the new Museum of Natural History being built there.  Nothing like destroying natural habitat to build a museum honoring it.  I actually fought against the site selection, but it was clear right from the start that this building was coming - there were just so many better places.  We should all enjoy the trail system while it lasts, between the new museum, Heritage park, and the zoo the trails will soon be a thing of the past.

Anywho.... the run was great, foot was fair and overall a good experience.
