Another 4 miler, first blog entry in a long time. In attempt to track whether or not I can return to racing, I wanted to log my progress, or has been, lack there of.  Hopefully I can continue to make some strides and run more pain free than I have been.  I have run 6 out of the last 7 days, a first in over a year, mileage is low, but it is a start, I hope.  Foot a little sore, knee feeling better today.

5 miles around the capital from City Creek.  Nice evening for a run.  Both knee and foot a little sore, but certainly managable.  Plyos in the pool too.

1000 yard frustrating swim.  Pool etiquette simply does not exist at the Steiner pool.  Nothing like dodging people just content on floating and socializing!  I finally gave up and got out.  

5 mile run at Millcreek canyon.  Knee slightly better, foot feeling better until after the run.  Fall colors are phenomonl right now - wow!!

500 meter warm-up in the pool followed by plyos.  This was preceded by a 5 mile run from home to Steiner.  Everything was a little sore today, but I am at least running.  Some quality time with the stick this evening will help.

Developed a migraine the night before while repairing the car, it wiped my out for the day, nausea and light sensitivity remained all day long.  First migraine in many months, I could do without ever having another one.

Congratulations on your recent return to consistent running. You run in some of my favorite places (Pipeline, City Creek). I live in Farmington and don't get to SLC that often.

1500 meter swim and plyos in the water.  6 miles from Steiner and through Red Butte.  This is the longest run I have done in a long time, it was nice to be out just a little longer.  I love this cool weather, it is such a nice change.  Foot a little sore at first, then felt better, knee was noticable, but much better than earlier in the week.

Down in St. George to watch the marathon.  Ran from Quail Creek, nice area, pretty lake!  Felt a little sluggish from the drive, but opened up nicely as the run progressed.  Both feet a little tender after the run, a nice night in the tent will surely make them feel better.  The moon was the brightest I have ever seen, it was like daylight, I think I may have gotten moon burned!

At Kodachrome State park - amazing place and well worth the visit.  A good morning watching the marathon, congrats to all the runners.  I am hopeful I will return to this event at some point.  Both feet sore today, actually took 2 advil to calm them down, that helped a lot.  Nice run in the wind!

1200 meter swim with plyos. 6 miles from Steiner through the trails.  Everything actually felt pretty good today, pain was less prominent in all joints.  Cool weather was awesome and I had the trails to myself.

5 miles on the treadmill this evening.  A little faster toward the end, but the TM sure lights up my foot.  I was stiff and sluggish at the start, but felt much better toward the end.  Will see how the foot does in the morning.

600 meters warm-up in the pool - did not really have a lane so it was hard to see the wall for turns, but it worked to warm-up for the plyos.  Plyos in the pool.

5 miles from Steiner to the park and home, a nice run, foot was sore from the night before, but it behaved during the run.  It is sore tonight, but I am hopeful it will calm down, a little work with the stick will help too.  Feeling like I am developing some rhythm again, at least at times.  I will time most of these runs because I do not want the pressure to perform until the injuries have abated.

5 miles on pipeline tonight. Tripped on a rock, pulled a pec, some intercostals, and something on the top of  my foot.  Nothing severe, but enough to be sore for a few days.  Foot was a little sore to start, but good at the end, sore after the run.  I hope the tendon on the top of my foot does not act up too much, this is the last thing I need at this point.  Also, 16 miles on the bike with MJ, what an amazing ride on the Legacy Parkway.

Very short on time today, but made do with what I had.  Ran from the club and a couple laps around Wheeler farm, I love that place, the animals are all so friendly.  Everything a little tight to start, but turned out to be a pretty good run, just wish I had more time so I could actually stretch and roll out after the run.  Spent a little time with stick before crashing early for bed.

Ran from the Riverwalk up Espalande Street through Treme.  Very nice run, grass path most of the way.  People were again incredibly friendly, I am very impressed with New Orleans and the people here.

Arrived back in Salt Lake late last night after a phenomonal trip to New Orleans.  The running was not what I hoped it would be, but I did not really care because the city was so much fun.  We walked more than I have probably ever.  Gmapped one day at 14 miles, that was not even the most we walked - fun trip!

Today's run was pretty good, ran the first 4.5 on my own and the last 1.5 with a client.

1000 meter swim with Plyos - first time in the water in over a week, felt good to get back in.  6.5 mile run back from Steiner through Sugar House Park.  A little stiff to start, but better towards the end of the run.  Blister on my left foot because I forgot to bring my sock to the pool with me.

Another great run on Pipeline!  Most issues are actually feeling better, still a lot of tightness at the start of the run, but feeling better toward the end of each.  Stomach and head were issues today, but a little too much beer and wine is likely the culprit - thanks to the BrewMaster and his Posse for making me drink that last glass of wine! Also managed to get a nice 10 mile ride in with M, plus 1500 meters of swimming - overall a good day!

5 miles on pipeline, everything was a bit tight today, and a quad cramp with a quarter mile to go did not make things any better.  Never had a tinge or cramp in my quad before, it is actually quite painful.  I have limped around all evening on it, but I think it will be better in a day or two.

Started off feeling a little sluggish, felt good in the middle, and then dragged myself back to the car for about the last mile.  This is the farthest I have run for probably 9 months, and it actually felt good to get out.  The trail was muddy in spots, but an improvement over yesterday, plus it was another quality spanish learning day!

In addition, rode 12 miles with M, on the Legacy Parkway!!!

Likely the only run I will do in Mexico City, but what an amazing run it was.  I ran the perimeter of the pyramids, it is about 6 miles around the park, and you get a clear view of all three pyramids.  The pyramid of the sun and moon are simply amazing, and looking straight up the avenue of the dead - simply once in a lifetime!.  To top it all off, I had a great run, and felt really strong - what a great day!

Back from Mexico City, what an amazing place, loved it.  Lots of people, and lots of culture, I enjoy the diversity.  I feel so P.C. diversity, I must laugh a little... I have not had a cold in a couple years, have not missed it one bit.  Might be time for some garlic black bean soup over some red rice - yummy!  My spanish lessons on the run are entertaining, but I think I am actually getting worse at speaking, I am sure over time it will be easier.

Muddy!!  Pipeline was a muddy mess today, but a good run none-the-less.  Cold has still got the better part of me, but I am out and able to move a little so I guess that is good.  Hopefully looking to add a little more mileage in the upcoming weeks, we will see.  Loving the weather, nice, not too cold, great just to be out exploring.

Back in town, decided an easy 4 would be in order to recover from the train ride.  A little stiff getting started, but felt pretty good by the end of the run.

A muddy 6 on pipeline.  I was expecting either a dry or frozen trail, but there was way more mud than I anticipated.  The run started slow but got better as it progressed, the knee was a little tender at the start, but felt fine at the end of the run.

Spent some quality time on the treadmill, this usually lights my feet up so we will see what happens this time.  I  took an ice bath right after, that should help.

6 miles on pipeline.  Feeling tight and pretty sluggish from yesterday's grueling 5 miles on the treadmill, this is not a good sign as to my current level of fitness.  The last 2 miles back were actually much better and I felt good overall.  Things finally loosened up and I felt like I could actually move a little.
