Liberty Park tempo this morning. I was feeling a little tight while warming up, and I firmly believe our warm-up was way too slow. I find that if I cannot get my heart rate up before I start a hard set I have a hard time getting into it. Came through the first mile in 5:45 and felt like it should have been much faster. I took a 10 second pause at the 1.3 mile mark to stretch my left calf and then took off again. I felt much better in the second mile, and finally felt I was moving well through to the finish. I did finish feeling like I could have kept going for a bit longer. Time 17:20. |
