I awoke this morning to stinging memories of an Irish Car Bomb, the slight pounding in the ears a subtle reminder of the preivous evening. I feel fortunate that I was spared the Canadian Bomb, or the Gentle Tennessee Bomb. As I prepared for my run, groggy images appeared, apparently remnants from the Irish Car Bomb. I had images of my days running through the bridges of Madison County, reminders of love, and times gone by. Kiss, kiss, a couple I love yous, and beautiful bridges, oh the bridges, what a sight they were. As I Knealed down to tie my shoes, I was reminded of a time that I was preparing for my first 5k, somewhere a voice said, "When the gun goes off run fast, when the bell rings, run faster." Great advice from a great man, a mentor really! I can still hear the bell ringing, like the ringing from my Irish Car Bomb. All in all this sounds like a really bad movie: "Roll Credits!"
Dedicated to Michelle, Randy, Trish, and my mentor Kneal - many thanks for a memorable evening and many more to come!
